“Hidden Treasures” at the Library

“Hidden Treasures” at the Library

                Anne O’Hara, art instructorat the Mississippi School of the Arts, currently has an exhibit at the Lincoln County Public Library.    The exhibit, entitled “Hidden Treasures,” is composed of shadow boxes, 2 free-standing pieces, and a series of charcoal drawings.       

                The public is invited to attend a reception planned for Thursday, April 12, from 4 – 6 p.m. in the library’s meeting room. 

                A native of England, Mrs. O’Hara received her diploma from the Gloucestershire College of Art.  After coming to the United States, she received her M.F.A. in sculpture from the San Francisco Art Institute and also studied at San Jose State College.   A National Board Certified teacher, Mrs. O’Hara came to MSA when it opened in 2003.  Honors include: 2011 Mississippi Outstanding Art Teacher of the Year,  MSA 2007 Teacher of the Year and Outstanding Teacher awarded by the Jackson Metropolitan Area Chamber of Commerce in 2001.   She is married to Bruce O’Hara, Professor of Art at Tougaloo College, and is the mother of 2 children.
