Giving by Bill Clinton

Bill Clinton is the classic American "rags to riches" success story. Born in a poor family in one of the poorest and most rural states in America, he became a Rhodes scholar and graduate of Yale Law before becoming a two-term president of the United States. Horatio Alger couldn't have written a better story.

In Giving, Clinton puts his own success story behind him and discusses how we can all become better people through generosity. He emphasises how everyone has something to contribute to making the world a better place and that the smallest of gestures can have a major impact.

His heartwarming examples range from the richest man in America spending millions to elementary school children contributing pennies. The story of Oseola McCarty is a local example of how giving not only makes the world better but also makes us better.

Whatever your politics, this book will be an inspiration, especially during this season of Lent, when we contemplate how we can become better members of society.
