Encyclopedia of Artists

If you are interested in western art and artists you will enjoy browsing our Encyclopedia of Artists. This is actually a set of 6 books that hold a wealth of information about western art and artists from the middle ages to modern times. The first 5 volumes in the set include a main text describing the artist's life and work in detail. It has a feature box discussing the artist's style and an example of the artist's work, a data file listing key facts about the artist and more. It is arranged by alphabetical order of the artist's name and very easy to use. The final volume contains brief, concise articles on the styles and movements over the last 1,000 years. It also includes a glossary, index and recommendations for further reading. Besides just being enjoyable, these books would be a good resource for school reports and projects.
