Summer Library Program

We've not been posting to the blog much lately, but it isn't because our libraries haven't been busy. In fact, it is because we've been so busy that we haven't had time to talk here about what we've been up to. As usual, the Summer Library Program is the big news in June. We've had record attendance this summer, with well over 600 kids signed up in Brookhaven alone. In addition, Ms Donna has started a teen program this year which is also very successful.

Bude Public Library is also starting a "teen read" program which Ms Kathy intends to run until school starts. In addition, Bude is starting a new baby program with reading, games and other activities for mothers and their young children.

Yesterday, Ms Enola at the Franklin County Public Library had over 50 children attending her Wednesday morning program. On June 23, the Mississippi Department of Transportation will present a program in Meadville and on June 30, Dana Brice from the MSU Extension Office will be there.

Also yesterday, Ms Donna from Brookhaven presented guest programs at the New Hebron Public Library and the Lawrence County Public Library in Monticello. Both Lawrence County libraries have great participation!

If you haven't signed up for the summer library activities, come to your favorite library. We're always glad to see you!
