Mississippi School of the Arts Exhibit

The Mississippi School of the Arts (MSA) Visual Arts students are currently exhibiting their work in the Lincoln County Public Library, 100 South Jackson St., Brookhaven. The work will be on display for the month of March. There will be a reception honoring the talented young artists at the library on Thursday, March 11, from 2 p.m. till 4 p.m. This exhibit coincides with Youth Art Month, which is sponsored by the National Art Education Association. Featured works include: paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculpture and fabric art and a range of styles from realism to abstraction.

More work by these talented young artists is currently on display thru April 18th at the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson, as part of the exhibition for the Scholastic Art Awards Competition. MSA Students won 134 awards in this statewide competition, including 2 American Visions Awards, 5 Jurors Awards of Excellence, 40 Gold Keys, 45 Silver Keys and 42 Honorable Mentions. The 14 students who entered art portfolios all received awards, 7 gold, 5 silver and 2 Honorable Mentions, and there was one gold key photography portfolio.
