Brookhaven; Remembering the Past

By Donna Kenney

For years Harrell and Carroll Montgomery have collected Brookhaven and Lincoln County memorabilia from estate sales, garage sales, and the Internet and from individuals. “It’s amazing how much can be found right here in our town that people have kept over the years,” said Carroll Montgomery.
“Many items were saved by the older people in our community and left to family members. “
“We just love finding new ‘treasures’ each time we go on a trip. We want to share with the people of Brookhaven this collection we have been acquiring over the years, pertaining to our town we love – Brookhaven. “Included in the display are signs, bottles, photographs, etc.
The reception for Harrell and Carroll Montgomery has been changed from November 6 to Thursday, November 13, from 4:30 – 7 p.m. at the Lincoln County Public Library. The public is invited to meet the brothers, view their large collection of Brookhaven/Lincoln County collectibles, and remember or learn a little bit of local history.
