Autumn Comes to South Mississippi (More or Less)

November brings us the end of daylight savings time, shorter days and (somewhat) cooler weather (today's high will be in the 80's). But what really makes the month of November great are the leaves. In town, the crepe myrtles and dogwoods and fruit trees are beautiful. In the country, the rolling hills are covered with sweet gum, maple and sumac. If this riot of color makes you wonder which tree is which, we've got just the books for you.

Field guides to trees are located at 582.16 in the non-fiction section of the library.
If you are inspired to try your hand at drawing and painting nature, try the 740's.
The library can help you with information on just about any topic you're interested in. Just ask us, we are glad to help.
