Mississippi Library Association Conference 2008

The Mississippi Library Association met this week in Natchez. Six staff members from the Lincoln Lawrence Franklin Regional Library joined hundreds of librarians from around the state for a great learning experience. The annual conference is always a great chance to learn about the latest wrinkle in libraries. Having the meeting in our beautiful and historic neighbor city of Natchez made it especially enjoyable. Everyone we encountered in Natchez did everything they could to make the librarians feel welcome.

Walt Grayson was the featured speaker at the Public Library Section breakfast meeting. His talk had the early morning crowd roaring with laughter as he discussed producing his television programs, books and other projects.

Other programs emphasised automated resources, archival preservation, children's programming and many, many other topics.
