Travel Dreams

Isn't this the most beautiful autumn weather we have seen in a long time? As those cooler north winds begin to blow and the leaves turn hundreds of shades of red, gold, bronze, yellow and purple, perhaps your mind drifts away to other beautiful areas of the world. Today, I have some new travel books to help you daydream about your next vacation.

Many of the Moon Handbooks series are into the 5th, 6th, 7th or higher editions. They have been described as one of America's finest travel guidebook series with extensive research, numerous tips, and helpful maps. Everything you expect in a travel guidebook is here and more. I especially like the itineraries for Best in One Week, Two Weeks on the Road, ...With Children, and of course, the "Can't Miss sights, activities, restaurants, and accommodations." From Oahu to Cancun to Alaska, Moon Handbooks will help you plan a great trip. (Stay tuned, we will have more travel guides in the near future.)

Oahu --6th edition -- 919.6930442/N--Brookhaven
Maui --8th edition -- 919.6920442/N--Brookhaven
Cancun & Cozumel -- 8th edition--917.26504842/C--Brookhaven
Yucatan Peninsula -- 9th edition--916.26504842/P--Brookhaven
Pacific Mexico -- 8th edition--917.204842/W--Brookhaven
Canadian Rockies -- 5th edition--917.11045/H--Brookhaven
Western Canada -- 2nd edition--917.12044/H--Brookhaven

If you are dreaming of a European trip, Rick Steves' popular series is always a great place to begin planning. Rick includes beautiful full-color photos, timelines, maps, drawings and lists of things to do and see to make sure you don't miss a thing. Who but Rick Steves can help you experience the culture like a local?

Rick Steves' Europe 101: History & Art for the Traveler -- 7th edition -- 914.04/S--Brookhaven
Rick Steves' Rome 2008 -- 1st edition -- 914.56320493/S--Brookhaven
Rick Steves' Best of Europe 2008 --914.04561/S--Brookhaven

To plan a trip in the United States, how about a "theme" trip? Do you love walking through lovely historic gardens admiring the garden's design and the beautiful plants (and the hard work it takes to create and maintain a lovely garden)? Here are 2 books to help you plan your springtime garden tour.

Gardenwalks in the Southeast -- 712.0975/H--Brookhaven
Gardens across America: Vol. 1 East of the Mississippi -- 712.50973/S--Brookhaven

Now all you have to do is decide when and where your next trip will take you.
